To many, Indiana Jones was a hero. Antagonist to the Nazis, adventurer, professor...American. But was this "collector of rare antiquities" really just a thief and smuggler? With the opening of the Acropolis Museum in Athens, the debate over cultural history ownership and "elginism," or cultural vandalism, is renewed. Should artifacts taken from their cultural context by other nations be returned? Or is the very act of procuring these ancient artifacts history to be preserved?
