We humans are social animals at heart, and even when we have an interest which may be considered relatively solitary, we can make it into something social by forming a club devoted to its celebration. As much as people who love science fiction movies and television shows may be the undeserving butt of cruel jokes, they seem to have a great time at conventions and can form clubs which will astound you with their size, loyalty and frequently their sharp wit. And if you think that sci-fi fans are nerds, you might want to avoid reading what some people say about classic car buffs. It is not always flattering. What it comes down to is a single question - do you care?
