A bleeding hemorrhoid can be detected when the toilet bowl has traces of blood in it. The toilet paper will also have blood on it. This goes to show that the bulging arteries that form hemorrhoids have burst and have started bleeding. Hemorrhoids can bleed both internally and externally.
